San Onofre Nude Beach - What more can be said about the naked beach situation at San Onofre ? The news has been covered a thousand times in web logs and news articles from around the globe. The web is filled with narratives about the San Onofre nudity prohibition of 2008 (which didn't really take enforced effect until the summer of 2010 - the worst summer of my life, which I Will get back to).
For those who are not familiar with San Onofre, or the scenario with the nude beach there, I've supplied some links at the end of this post that I highly suggest checking out. The people continues to be dealt an injustice there, one that needs considerably more media attention than it is received, and it is been my passion since the nudity ban to bring this situation to the general public's attention.
Here's an extremely short recap: A small handful of non-elected park rangers and bureaucrats have effectively taken away the right of "The People" to skinny dip at the sand in California. Every naked beach in California, that lives on State Park property, is changed. Individuals who did this are seemingly unaccountable to the public, and it was done with zero public input or outcry. They even used a technicality to attain their aim in appeals court, and they used your tax money to do it.

Separate from the nudity-prohibition, is the consequence of what can be attained, behind "The People's" backs, by the quantity of power that is vested in this type of small group of non-elected state employees. Nudity has been banned. Booze continues to be prohibited. What will be beach handjob ? What prohibition will the next private dislike or private-moral-code visit upon us? The chances are staggering.

It's been several months since I Have written anything about San Onofre. Truthfully, I've felt pretty jaded, even bitter, about the nudity prohibition, and the California State Parks system's treatment of naturists. I'ven't given up the fight, not by a long shot, but I think I 've been able to dodge the negative vibe of it all, so that I could have a nice summer. So, after I was invited to write another post about San Onofre, I was reluctant to accept - I needed to, but I did not. I dreaded the vibe. Bringing the ideas, and pain of it back to the vanguard.. I simply was not sure if I was ready to go there. nudist teen family 'm not the only individual who feels hurt about San Onofre, there are many. I have been a "routine" at San Onofre's naked beach - which we refer to as Trail 6, although it is a long way from the legitimate Trail 6 path - for many years. I'm also the creator and moderator of the Friends of San Onofre Beach (Official) Facebook group, so I'm able ot say with 100% conviction that everybody who has ever appreciated a plage moment at Trail 6, even if it was many years ago, even if they remained clothed, wants the naked beach back.
Why do we want it back so awful? Why not just give up, and go to Blacks? Well, as I said, ALL Cal State Park Shores are changed by the nudity ban. It is presently not under fire, but it is easy to understand that Blacks is living on borrowed time. Besides, why should all the Los Angeles and Orange County people need to drive all the way to San Diego, when we have a perfectly great nude beach at San Onofre?
Ok, perhaps we should just quit our bitching and wear clothing to the playa. The individuals who are responsible for the nudity ban believe that's a sensible option. They feel that being unclothed at a strand, even one as remote as
Trail 6, should be a crime, and they have now made it thus. For us naked beach lovers, however, wearing clothes is most certainly not a wise decision. For over thirty years we've all been enjoying the nude beach at San Onofre in perfect harmony with the law, the rangers, the public, the military and nature.
Why is the naked beach at San Onofre so "Cherished", you might ask?
First, you must recognize that there are no other nude beaches in all of Southern California's Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Variable in the residents of the inland counties of Riverside and San Bernardino, you might have a playa-using population base of nearly eighteen million individuals. That amount includes a hell of a lot of naturists and bare beach supporters, and the bare beach goers from that massive population base have already been relying on San Onofre's bare beach as their only nude beach, within a realistic travel distance for ordinary weekend unclothed beach visits.
Second, Location location location! The distant, hike-in, dead-end, out-of-the-spotlight place of San Onofre's Trail 6 (T6) unclothed beach make it THE perfect bare beach location.

Other things that make San Onofre's bare beach so unique and specific are: good surf, warm summer water, innocent cliff & oil rig-free ocean scene, warm friendly people, camping, and a close proximity to the extremely cool town of San Clemente - where lots of San Onofre visitors like to hang out and party in the evening after a beach day.
I have hardly touched on the folks, and of course the vibe. You get to be a pretty tight-knit group of fun loving unclothed beach friends when you've been calling T6 your "home from home" for as long as many of the regulars have. Some of us have literally grown up there. I've been going there on and off since the early eighties; many of my T6 buddies out date me. Everyone is having a fun time every time you see them. The nudies at T6 have become a huge playa family, surfing together, playing volleyball, frisbee, beach golf, sunning, camping, BBQ's, and just hanging out with buddies.
San Onofre wasn't merely a bare beach, it was a lifestyle. Our lives far from the beach were centered around our life at the strand. Sure most of us also visit nude resorts and hotsprings, but it's the beach all of US crave. And you'd be hard pressed to find a better group of folks.
I have numerous amazing memories of T6, from world class sunsets, to stealing credit for assembling the sand trail over the stone from my buddy.
